Step 5 - Let's make a candle out of it
Fill your bowl with CandleRoxx candle sand, insert a wick and light it – no melting or pouring wax needed. Please note: the wick is not included.

About this product
Make your own Jesmonite® candle bowl – a complete DIY set to cast a stone-look bowl with a scalloped edge and turn it into a candle. No studio, no experience and no separate shopping list: everything you need to create your own unique candle bowl is in this box.
Jesmonite is a water-based, low-odour casting material that is easy and safe to work with at home. You simply mix it, colour it, pour it into the mould and let it cure – and you are left with a solid, decorative bowl that nobody else has. Fill it with candle sand and your candle is ready in seconds, without melting or pouring any wax.
How it works:
- Pick 3 pigments – choose from black, blue, bright yellow, bright red and purple.
- Mix the Jesmonite® AC100 liquid and base, and add your colour – one shade or a marbled mix.
- Pour it into the silicone bowl mould and let it cure.
- Demould your bowl, fill it with the CandleRoxx candle sand, insert your own wick and light it.

How to use this kit
Most of the time is waiting for the cure.
- Prepare lay out the mould, a mixing cup, a stick and a digital scale.
- Weigh and mix 1 part liquid to 2,5 parts base, stir 2 to 3 minutes until smooth.
- Colour stir in a few drops of pigment, or swirl two colours for a marbled look.
- Pour slowly, then tap the mould so air bubbles rise.
- Demould and cure after about 30 minutes; sand the edges, let it cure 24 hours, then seal.
Questions & answers
Is Jesmonite® easy for beginners?
Yes. Jesmonite® AC100 is water-based, non-toxic and forgiving, which makes it one of the easiest casting materials to learn on. As long as you weigh your ratio accurately and mix thoroughly, your first indoor decorative cast should turn out well.
Do I need special equipment?
No specialist tools are required. You just need a set of scales for the mix ratio, a mixing pot and stick, and a silicone mould. A starter kit is the simplest way to gather the essentials in one go.
Do I need a special mould?
Silicone moulds work best because they flex and release the cast cleanly, and they can be reused many times. A flat coaster or tray mould is a great first project as it is quick to fill and easy to demould.
